Female Discrimination

Summary

In September 2005, Clearwater Firefighters, in constant defense of their rights as Clearwater employees, declared that there will be a vote of "No Confidence" against Clearwater Fire Chief Jamie Geer.

Days before the vote, Geer allegedly received information that women had been threatened if they attempted to leave the CFFA. Geer immediately ordered that no female firefighter will enter a burning building.

After conveniently drawing attention away from the "No Confidence" vote, Geer was asked by the CFFA to provide evidence of these allegations.

- Geer Could not provide any information

- Geer offered no timetable for a supposed investigation

- Police detectives did not even investigate the allegations

- Six of the Nine women of the CFFA filed charges against Geer with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission over the ban.

- The remaining three women testified to the EEOC that they were never threatened or at any time felt threatened.

- A public records request revealed no records of any complaint ever existed. View it here

Geer rescinded the order several days later.
